Where can one get free change counting/enchange? I see all the local change counters that charge high rates, but I want to know where I can get it for free? We recently decided that each year we will deposit all of our spare change into our daughter's savings account, but is there an easy way to determine where?

We having a savings account for her at BofA and ING.

You can go to your local bank or credit union as "they might" do it for you but I'm guessing not for free.

Use Coinstar in the grocery store and pay the 5% fee or get a gift card with a lower fee and deposit the full amount in daughters account and you use the gift card.

New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union has a free machine at their main branch on Lomas in Albuquerque. Just go in and open up an account and you can use it during normal business hours.

Many banks do it for free. If you have lots of change (are you a begger?) then it might be worth it to switch to a bank that does it for free.
