Free CAD software?

I'm looking for a free CAD package for Ubuntu. Something akin to Sketchup or AutoCAD.

I did some Googling around, but it's not quite clear if there is a definitive solution.

If not, that should answer most of your questions.
If so, then you will probably need to be more specific about the functionality you want.

SolidEdge 2D is the best free (gratis) CAD software I've found, it's not linux friendly though. I've tried a few of the open source CAD programs, none worked well for me.

I haven't been totally thrilled with SketchUp as compared to something like AutoCAD, but its what people use in a lot of online communities and its nice to be using the same software as everyone else.

Yeah, I've seen that page, but I was looking for specific suggestions.

I'm mostly interested in modeling out things for 3-D printing as well as mock-ups of woodworking projects.
