An easy fix?

I've got a 17" LCD monitor from Norwood Micro (pictured below) that you can have for free. It's a little over a year old and is no longer under warranty, so I'm giving it away if someone out there can fix it and make use of it.

It was working fine, then all of a sudden, it won't stay on for more than a second before turning off. Once it turns off, it stays off for a few seconds, then tries to turn back on again. It repeats this cycle until you manually turn it off.

LOL... hmm.. well, i think it's still going to be depend on how "broke" the LCD is.. -.-" and how much your technical skills on repairing :-/ for me, it's almost impossible except just buy the damn new one cuz the price is not that expensive now anyway rite? :)

Hmm, I think CRTs only blow like that because there's a vacuum inside the tube, so it implodes when you break it. Good thought though

Could be an easy fix. Buy another unit of the same type on ebay with a broken panel and then just swap panel .

15 miles? Unless you're really broke, go for it!

It's probably the monitor's power supply that's cutting out. Open it up and see if there's anything burnt or fried on the power supply (the curcuit board attached to the plug for the AC outlet).

Even if you can't fix it, you can always take pictures of a weird and unique way of destroying it.
