Free Book for Diabetics

Link doesn't work for me.

Checked out the site and can't find anything about a book.

Good luck with handling your T2. My husband has it and controls it with diet only. Hopefully he can continue to do that.

Timely find! My brother was just diagnosed with T2 also. He has been doing well with diet control so far but it really is a a life changing thing. Something that I never really thought about until now and as a family member am concerned, of course.

This is a hot deal for EVERYONE. T1&T2 rates are rising dramatically, especially among people with no family history of diabetes or thyroid problems. Chances are, if you don't know someone with it, you might soon. It might also help to recognize symptoms early.

I was diagnosed with T1 when I was in high school. Few people really know much unless they have a friend or relative with it. Education saves (or prolongs) lives.

Edit: just realized this is one of those "chicken soup" books...I'd guess it's probably filled with stories about "overcoming" the difficulties of diabetes and other relatively useless smarmy stuff. Links for people who want real info:

American diabetes assoc.

Diabetes.com at webMD

Diabetes info from the CDC

also, for anyone with Type I, I highly recomend disetronic insulin pumps. pumps make precise managemnet much easier and I got over the inconviences very quickly.
