Been doing a little tidying up around here, and found a pile of 72 pin SIMM laying in the cabinet. There are 14 of them, all but one (an 8MB) seem to be 4MB sticks. Pretty sure they're good as they were upgrade pulls.

Free to whomever wants them, BUT you must be cracking RC5 for Team AnandTech.

Hmm, my two machines that use 72 pin SIMMs are already full of RAM. Oh well. :)

I have a P75 with 32MB in it, but I don't remember how full the slots are. I think it used 2 16mb sticks.

I haven't opened the case in years since it is an AST Bravo and can't be overclocked anyway. It does crack, but very slowly.

Still have my address? I'll try to use two of them.

Jon,

I'm sending the whole bag to one person. I really don't have the time to be packaging and shipping them to multiple people. I'm sorry, I should have made that more clear.

You can have the bag, though, if you want them.:)

AST Bravo P75? /me has one of them in the herd.

I put a Pentium 166 MMX Overdrive in it for a while. More than doubled the RC5 keyrate, as it actually clocked in at 125mhz due to the 50mhz FSB of the mobo and the multiplier lock of 2.5 of the CPU.

A nice little machine, but awful slow by today's standards. :(

Just because the mem is gone doesn't mean Russ might have some more stuff.

What do yah say Russ? Anything else you feel like getting rid of? Or even selling at a good discount price?

Looks like I might be needing either a laptop hd or something else soon. I just got my hands on a laptop that is kinda old and it doesn't go threw it's total boot prossess. I will be taking a look at it and I can only hope it is something simple to fix.

Wolfie,
I know you're from MN.
My wife just told me about a place that recycles computers.
Orange kid and I work right by this place.
I'll try to stop in on Monday to see what they have.

Moly Hoses! - those are GREAT prices on some of that stuff.

Edit:
I went ahead and took the initiative to contact them about doing web or e-mail ordering. We could lay our hands on some pretty cheap crack with these guys. Maybe I can negotiate volume discounts or something.

Redistribution may prove to be a pain... We'll have to play it by ear.

Curt, thanks for the link to MPC; if I lived in MN, I'd probably be working there part-time or visiting as a customer at least once a week!! :D

Heck, this may be even be a good place to get stuff to donate to Narzy's ROCK project! ;)

Hey NWM,
Have you ever checked out Comprenew? They have a location in Grand Rapids, MI and in Columbus, Oh..

Narzy is checking into their New Deal software for use on the ROCK pcs, as it works with older systems.

Ray, have you ever dealt with that company? My Dad is looking to buy an old laptop so he can do car diagnostics while driving, and that company has a few P133 laptops for $209, which seems like a decent price.
