interesting. wonder what a book plate looks like. I wonder if they'd inscribe "ALL YOUR BOOK ARE BELONG TO US!" on it...

A book plate is a piece of paper with glue on one side that gets signed so you can put it in your book and say your book was 'signed.' This is usually done instead of having the real book signed just in case you don't have your copy with at a book signing. It also allows authors to sign many book plates and send them to a store, without shipping scads of books around.
