Is a free antivirus program really just a tool for the powers at be to track our data? I mean the lion's share of the free antivirus programs out there, I can guarantee, are from Windows boxes, the other devices are pretty secure already so don't need a janky antivirus program.
I downloaded BitDefender Free, and it needs a login/email. I download Malwarebytes' Antimalware, if you're not the astute user, you'll sign up for the free auto system protect...Same goes for SuperAntiSpyware - if you're not quick at reading, you'll quickly hit OK! at the end where it asks you to turn on the free trial of System Monitoring.
It'll all unravel in due time, but this kinda nonsense is why I went from being a PC geek to a Skeptical Human. Nothing is as it appears anymore. God bless.
Edit: Forgot to say, the way BitDefender installs, it goes into C:\Program Files\Free Antivirus by default....I think it's really just a data miner. Sorry if this isn't the right forum by definition, but let us have an honest discussion on what we're really doing here with our janky MS Windows boxes.....
