List of motherboards available with promo

Deal is back again with the same promo (same URL works), but some different motherboards and different RAM.

The "free" RAM is some decent 1.5V G.Skill Sniper DDR3-1600.

One interesting motherboard is BIOSTAR NM70I-847 for $97 shipped with the RAM. It uses a mobile ULV 17W Celeron which is a 1.1GHz dual core Sandy Bridge CPU with 6 EU graphics core (AKA HD 2000, sans Quick Sync). Motherboard has HDMI, gigabit NIC, PCIe x8, 3x SATA and 1x SATA 6Gbps. It is "missing" USB 3.0. Power consumption-wise it will be like the Intel Atom and AMD Brazos (C and E series APU), but should outperform both.

-------------------- old ---------------

The "free" RAM is some decent 1.5V G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600.

The ASRock Z77 Extreme 3 for $120 seems a good value, but the best one might be the Biostar A68I-350 Deluxe board at $60 after rebate for an ITX board with AMD E-350 APU onboard and 8GB RAM. That's like getting the motherboard for $20! Too bad it uses a tiny heatsink with (probably noisy) fan, and only has 3 SATA 6G ports (I think chipset supports 6?). It does have USB 3.0, however.

I posted about this last time they had this deal. I picked up a Biostar TA75M FM1 mATX board for $80 + ship, with free 2x4GB Geil DDR3-1600. I have it running with an A6-3670K CPU in my new HTPC. Very happy with it. It was a good deal with the free RAM.

If I didn't already have two E-350 rigs already, I would snag that Biostar one for another build. It would be good to build a basic net-surfing mini-ITX rig. With a small SSD, of course.

I also want to comment - after running nearly continuously for a year, the 40mm fan in my Asrock E350M1 E-350 mITX board "went" on me, and started making noise. Thankfully, I bought some spare fans a while back, but it was a pain having to change it out. That's one of the disadvantages of those cheaper E-350 boards, that use fans rather than a huge honking passive heatsink like the more expensive Asus boards do.

Edit: I have a feeling though, that if the computer was turned off or went into sleep mode every night, that the fan would likely last the usable lifetime of the computer.

Edit: This one is also interesting. Mini-ITX with an Intel Celeron (SB?) 847 (1.1Ghz dual-core), with HD graphics.
HDMI/VGA, two DDR3 slots, one SATA6G (three 3G), and only USB2.0, no USB3.0.

I wonder how the peformance of the dual-core Celeron 1.1Ghz stacks up to a 1.6Ghz E-350? Or if it will handle Netflix HD.

ASRock Z77 $120, -$40 for RAM = $80...

Tempting, but I'm still waiting for a i5-3570k/z77 cpu/mobo deal :(
Looks like I won't have my computer for another few weeks.

I'm waiting for the same deal here. I've got everything but the CPU and mobo. With all these other parts just sitting here I'm getting kind of antsy.

While still a decent deal, I would consider the Biostar E-350 ITX a $70 deal, because the rebate may be iffy based on some discussions elsewhere, plus my own experiences.

Can anyone give their advice on the Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V that is listed here? The base price of the board and the free ram means the difference between getting an i5-3450 and an AMD FX-6300 for the price target I'm trying to hit.

I realize it is only a B75 so no OC'ing, but as I'm going for the non-k chip anyway that isn't a concern. This would be paired with a Radeon 7850 or 7870 2GB video card (no crossfire), and a 1920x1080 60Hz monitor.

Also... anyone know how long this deal runs?

Deal is back! Details in OP.

Was about to check out with an ASRock Z77 Extreme6 with free 8gb, when the 8gb disappeared from my shopping cart, checked the item page and it was gone too, but they're still advertising the deal only that all the mobo pages don't have free 8gb. Is the deal over, all of a sudden like that? Would be totally bummed if this is true.

I was looking at this board only an hour or two ago, and it was showing free 8GB of RAM with purchase. I almost snagged it, then I realized, I don't really need any more low-power computers, especially ones half the speed of my current low-power SB G630 rig.

Now it's not showing the promo any more. Over?

that is so tempting. I have two am2 sempron/ 785 combos here but that looks very tasty in comparison. It would likely work better than the AMD boards with linux/mythtv.

Yes, deals end. That's why they are "deals," and not "regular price." ;)
