Officemax.com has quietly put the Cendyne 48x12x48 internal CD-R/W drive on clearance with a price of $74.98 - $20 MIR - $50 OMAX rebate for a final total of $4.98. This in itself is a good deal, but here's how to make it even better!

This drive is limited to stock on-hand per region.

Keep in mind that most of these rebates have been in-effect since 7/20 and run thru the middle of September. Make sure you don't buy something you've already purchased or you won't be able to get a second rebate!

The Cendyne rebate form for this month is limited to one per ITEM per household/person, so you can still get in on this deal if you bought a 52x Cendyne burner earlier!

The $25 off $125 coupon seems to have unlimited use.
The $30 off $150 coupon seems to be a one-time only use.
You'll need to find them yourself (per forum rules).

20182491 Cendyne 48x12x48 CD-R/W (almost always a 48x24x48) for $74.98 - $70 MIRs = $4.98
20033642 Kingston 256 meg PC133 $36.98 - $17 MIR = $19.98
20074090 Belkin 50-pack slim jewel cases $4 - $4 MIR = 0
20221430 Stanley 6' white extension cord $1.98 - $1.98 MIR = 0 (same form and offer# as jewel cases/save a stamp!)
20339821 Sharp calculator $5 - $5 MIR = 0
20159427 iConcepts surge w/modem protection $5 - $5 MIR = 0

Total: $127.94 - $25 coupon + $6.69 tax (6.5%) = $109.63 - $102.98 = $6.65 (tax!)

Get to $150 with these items so you can use the $30 coupon:

20201425 Sanford 5-pack highlighters $2.89 - $2.89 = 0
20052014 Belkin PCI 10/100 NIC $9.98 - $5 MIR - $5 MIR = -$0.02
20047584 or 20154235 CD-R 50 pack spindle $12 - $7 MIR - $5 MIR = 0

Or, substitute 128 meg PC133 (or the below Lexar 64 meg Jumpdrive) for the 256 meg and add another burner, use a $30 off coupon and you get...

20220529 Micro Advantage 52x24x52 CD-R/W drive $49.99 - $40 MIR = $9.99 (already OOS -- check OMAX.com tomorrow)
20086256 Kingston 128 meg PC133 $19.99 - $10 MIR = $9.99

$167.94 - $30 coupon + $8.97 tax (6.5%) = $146.91 - $145.98 MIRs = $0.93!

Another item of interest:

20230340 Lexar 64 meg Jumpdrive $19.99 - $10 MIR = $9.99

Use some cheap school supplies as filler if you need it (theme books, pocket folders, 3-ring binders, etc.)

Don't forget to use your MSN Dollar Rewards if you have them! Just check out using MSN Wallet!

Enjoy!

Joe

P.S.

Did we all get lazy and figure there were no deals if TheDiggler didn't put them up? :p

My sister's burner has been acting up so I guess I'll jump in on this. BTW are cendyne drives good or do you have to flash them?

Update:
Can't find the Micro Advantage 52x24x52 CD-R/W drive so I went with:

20182491 Cendyne 48x12x48 CD-R/W (almost always a 48x24x48) for $74.98 - $70 MIRs = $4.98 <------Backordered, crap!!!
20074090 Belkin 50-pack slim jewel cases $4 - $4 MIR = 0
20339821 Sharp calculator $5 - $5 MIR = 0
20159427 iConcepts surge w/modem protection $5 - $5 MIR = 0
20052014 Belkin PCI 10/100 NIC $9.98 - $5 MIR - $5 MIR = -$0.02
20047584 or 20154235 CD-R 50 pack spindle $12 - $7 MIR - $5 MIR = 0
20086256 Kingston 128 meg PC133 $19.99 - $10 MIR = $9.99
20230340 Lexar 64 meg Jumpdrive $19.99 - $10 MIR = $9.99

For a subtotal of $150.92 + $9.98 tax - $30 of $150 coupon =
$130.90 grand total
- $132.00 in MIR =
-$1.10

It looks like it sold out already. They may bring it back tomorrow or Saturday, so check back if you really want it! :)

see my post here:

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=54&threadid=209095&highlight_key=y

Two reasons:

1) My Cendyne rebates (modem, CD-R/W and DVD-R) have all been approved without issue;
2) One of my mom's Cendyne rebate was initally (incorrectly) denied (and then approved after a phone call) with the following message:

We apologize for the misunderstanding, but your rebate is invalid because this promotion allows only one rebate per item per household. A postcard acknowledging your invalid reason will be mailed to you.

So even RebatesHQ gets it, they just have careless employees.

Make this deal even hotter!

Fill out the rebate for the Cendyne 48x12x48 Internal CD-R/W drive online at www.rebateshq.com and they have it listed as a $30 MIR rather than a $20 on the paper submission! Possibly make $5 on the drive!
