I use 1-800-FREE-411 on my cell phone sometimes, but you can use it from any phone. Plus, I use whitepages.com and yellowpages.com when I need a number and my computer is up.

Yup, I programmed that into my phone where there was a HD thread on it a while ago. I havent used it yet though.

I knew something like this would start up since the carriers are charging outrageous fees now.

Cingular just went to $1.79 per call.

I will add that sometimes it has a hard time recognizing what you're saying. For the most part, it doesn't recognize my city and will have to transfer me to a live operator. That's the only downside that I've noticed so far.
