I don't know how many Anandtecher's have active lifestyles.... don't y'all sit at your computers all day searching for/posting hot deals?? ;)

Anyways, Powerbar is offering a 30-day free trial of CTS training program - you can sign up for many different sports including cycling, running, swimming, tri, du. You get your own personal coach, and customized training program according to your physiology and fitness level. I signed up because I have a duathlon coming up in 20 days.

This company offers as part of this access to a library of in-depth fitness and nutrition articles. I would be very suspect of the info they are providing. Their bars are essentially trash. The Primary ingredient in many of their products is High Fructose Corn Syrup...

Beware!

Good to know there's at least one more cyclist here. I'm a bit behind on my mileage goal for the year......maybe this will give me some more motivation to get in the saddle. If nothing else, I'll be in better shape for Ride for the Roses in October.

Thanks for the link!!

My guess is that you are not an aerobic/endurance trainer. Cuz if you were then you would know that CTS is one of the premier endurance coaching organizations. Some of the articles found on that site are the same as the ones found at their main website. Also, you would know that carbohydrates are the primary fuel of the endurance athlete, and that corn syrup is a fine source of those carbohydrates. Maybe you are a weight trainer? Or perhaps a computer geek who has never exercised in his life?

SharkyTM... 35 POUNDS !?!?!?! Jeez Louise!

I'll stick with my 23lb Bontrager RaceLite with full XTR set-up. Nothing rips through the single-track like that sweet little ride.

BTW. Chris Carmichael, while being a master at self-promotion, isn't doing anything coaching-wise that hasn't already been established for 20 years. There's nothing new about their programs.

No, I am not a endurance, aerobic or weight trainer. Although I am a runner and do lift weights. I have a good amount of nutrition knowledge. I do know that carbs are the primary source of fuel for the endurance athlete. However, even if I had read the same article over at trainright.com, I would not have "known" that hfcs is a "fine source" of carbs. Try reading some more. Google is your friend.

:p Ha. I've gotta Dick's Sporting Good's trail bike with two tires, 10 gears, a seat, and, get this DUAL CALIPER BRAKES. My bike weights more than yours. 35 pounds, I'd bet. Heavier is better, that's my motto.
