Staples annual TurboTax deal.....Many rebates and jumping through hoops, but free software. I did this last year and all rebates came with no problem.

TurboTax Deluxe - sku# 498817 - $39.95
Turbotax State - 499971 - $29.95
Quicken 2003 basic - 491763 - $29.95
Norton AntiVirus 2003 - 495020 - $49.99

Add paper clips (sku# ACC-72320) or something to get you over $150, then use $30 off coupon to get it down to $120.

TurboTax Deluxe has $10 MIR
Turbotax State has $29.95 MIR
Quicken 2003 basic has $29.95 MIR,
Norton AntiVirus 2003 has $20 upgrader MIR and $30 MIR

So you get $120 back in rebate checks.

Amazon has the same deals BUT they have an extra $20 rebate on the Norton Software and Quicken is about $6 cheaper. If Staples charges you sales tax, the deal at Amazon is hotter...

No, but (as mentioned), they have an extra $20 rebate and the price for Quicken is $6 less. Considering the sales tax on $150 that Staples will charge ($10.88 for California), Amazon ends up being about $7 cheaper. If Staples doesn't charge you tax (you lucky b@st@rd), then their deal is better. ;)

You LUCKY BAR STEWARD ! ;)

Incidentally, Staples does charge me tax, but I think I prefer saving teh $30 up front than waiting for yet another rebate

If I had to pay tax, I'd have to agree with you. I'd rather pay a few bucks more to get instant gratification and avoid a rebate.

So does that mean, if you don't already own Norton Antivirus - the deal will cost $20 ?

Anyone know what proof is required ? can it be the orginal disk from 5 years ago ? or do you have to be a registered user ?

thanks

Does Quicken Basic 2003 really have a $29.95 rebate or is it just for the purchase price? I think in previous years they just reimbursed the purchase price, so Amazon's better price is sort of N/A.

Quicken vs Money... I used Quicken for about 3 years (updated each time too) and then tried Money. Money is a lot better in features and GUI.

I used the state and federal Turbo Tax for about 4 years and found that they are more confining on write offs than when you see a tax person. I got more back with a Tax man. They might be good to check to see if your tax man is on the ball. Though when you consider how long it takes you to complete your taxes yourself and that you will probably get less money than by going to a tax man...well there should not really be a question.

Yeah but you lose an extra 9% of your income over there. Move/work across the border and just shop in Oregon.

BTW, anyone also notice that VirusScan 7/QuickClean is $60 - $30 upgrader rebate - $30 rebate = free?

I think someone here or at FW suggested buying both Norton and VirusScan and using each other to get the upgrade rebate on each other. Sounds pretty insane, but I'm considering it since I don't own either...

My copy of the McAfee stuff only had a sticker for $20 upgrader rebate on it.
Anyone know where I can get the $30 rebate AS ADVERTISED?
