Just got this in an email from Coinstar. They have done this promo every year for the last 5 years or so. Last year was, cash 30.00 in coins for a 10.00 GC, IIRC.

This year it's gone up 10.00. It's simple, cash 40.00 in coins at a Coinstar box and choose a GC from many companies, Amazon, Loews, itunes, etc. Your receipt will have your promo code on it. Now just send that receipt back to Coinstar and they will email a 10.00 GC at the company you chose as your original GC. Takes a few weeks to get the code.

Sweet. Now that I know that don't charge extra for gift cards, I might have to do something with all those coins I have here.

Last year I just went to the bank and asked for quarter rolls, which I promptly put into a Coinstar machine a couple of blocks away. :)

Darn, only 1 per address. Guess I will have to do 1 for home, 1 for work, and 1 for PO Box.

Thanks OP, rep/green for you :)

I'm pretty sure the machine locator page is busted because I turn up none and I know I've seen them around here, I think in Stop & Shop groceries.

Might want to do a little research about your local machines before heading out with a bunch of coins.

According to the official rules for the $10 promotion:
". . . convert in a single transaction at least 40 U.S. dollars (in coins only) into a GIFT CARD or eCertificate at participating Coinstar Centers."

But according to the Coinstar Machine Locator, not all machines have gift cards available (apparently not one of the 4 machines in my small town have them). Even the eCertificates available seem to vary by machine. . .
