Yeah, so I restarted my computer after having it on for over a week because DVD's were getting choppy. Well when I restarted, Asus probe came up immediately and said the core was at 143C. Pretty cool huh... It dropped back to normal within a few second but its pretty cool that it happened. Any ideas as to why Asus probe might do that.. or if the diode might be bad. I'm not really concerned about my heat issues, I know I have 'em under control, but it is interesting.
 
Not much of an expert with asus boards, but I know 143c should burn a hole in your board if it was accurate. Might want to check out asusboards.com, they have a bunch of forums of asus users, I'm sure you'll be able to find your answer there.
