I remember paying 300 dollars for some accounting book, and at the end of the semester they offered to buy it back for 2 dollars, I got more enjoyment throwing it on a burn pile with some brush at my parents house.
I thought I heard somewhere that Amazon uses some kind of automated pricing engine that generates bizarre prices sometimes. I think part of it is the low number of available units.
Amazon is really weird. I work for a company that publishes books (among other things) and Amazon will ask us to mail, say, three copies of a book to them. They often list them for less than they are paying us, and then they'll inexplicably send one or two of them back before asking us to send a few more.
