ok, so my computer is royally pissing me off today...

all started because i got a new USB keyboard.. but it was being weird, so i flashed bios to new version which claimed "USB Module Update".. this made keyboard work but i lost 4 of my 8 ports.. but I figure hell, i didn't use more than 4 anyhow, and there is a hub connected so...

runs stable for a few days, i play with the OC a little, get it a bit faster, system still seems fine, after running Super Pi (all choices to 16M), sandra benchmarks, aquamark, Seti.. playing WC3, unreal 2k4, etc..

Today, was using it, minding my own business when all of a sudden it freezes up like someone hit it with liquid oxygen...

rebooted, and noticed one of my HD's was spinning up and down intermittently.. (scary)

rebooted again, drop to BIOS, set to defaults, save, reboot...

no change..

I recently flashed the BIOS to more recent version so.. go download pvs version, flash, reboot..

won't boot to OS..

Stick in Windows XP CD, it won't even get to the "use recovery console" point.

So I figure hmm, maybe I fried my RAM or something..

Swap both chips for single stick of good DDR 266... set to SPD, reboot..

gets farther, but won't boot to OS

Go to install cd, get recovery console up.. decide to do chkdsk of C.. with recover on..

gets to 60%, freezes solid again..

the question is.. is my MOBO the next choice of culprits? Did I fry my processor or something? Should I just toss the whole freakin' thing and get a Mac? Is one of my HD's a POS ?

grrrrr....

update.. tryed to do reovery install, had blue screen about 2% through listing 'CDFS File System' as cause..

Mobo anyone think? I am on a 3rd set of RAM chips..
