Freak tire damage today

IronWing

No Lifer
I was driving a Jeep on a rocky dirt road today and I had to stop to open a gate. I noticed that my front passenger's side tire was hissing like crazy. "Crap", said I and I looked and felt for the the leak. It turned out that the valve stem had been hit by a rock, bending the threads inward and driving the cap into the core and thus deflating the tire. I pulled the damaged cap off and the core popped back up, stopping the leak. The tire held fine for the trip home.

Now you remind me there's still one thing to do for making my 95 Trooper totally perfect again.

The spare tire. It's 24 years old, as far as I can tell . . . .

Man . . . that would be bad . . . . squeezing through the canyon of Goler Wash in the Panamints, to visit Charlie Manson's Barker Ranch, and a rock screws up your valve stem. Spooky! Recent news suggests there are dead bodies buried out there -- the LaBiancas and the Tates just the tip of the iceberg.

No Jeep or Trooper is gonna proteck you agains' the Forces of Darkness! Reee-pent! And Reee-inflate!
