Yeah I don't know what to think about that...I'm never keen on reboots or rebirths and you're right about Mahoney. He might've been my favorite character.

I've not watched much or any TV in years besides a few series I streamed or downloaded, so I'm not likely to watch this in any case unless I heard BRILLIANT reviews on the new one. I did enjoy the comedy and storylines in the original show, though. With decent writing, they might draw back many of the original viewers that are still living.

The series was pretty damn good compared to almost all the other crap on TV at the time. It went on too long. 11 seasons is epic but also excessive.
In fact as I recall season 10 was especially bad. Then they brought back the original writers for season 11 and called it quits. Thats better than milking it to death.

The reboots these days are just cash grabs, and many arent even subtle.
Murphy Brown was terrible. I heard Will and Grace was unimpressive. Roseanne was shit but they did retcon that horrible ending with Dan passing away and everything being a dream. I never loved Mad About You but I heard that reboot did not please the fans.

With so many good, original shows these days I just dont see any needs being met, or gaps being filled by the reboots. And thanks to DVD sets and the 200 hundred streaming services you can easily go back and watch your old favorites any time you like.

I liked the X Files reboot, but was glad it was one season. The Will and Grace reboot wasn't bad. It actually felt like it never left.
But you are right, most have been bad.

Actually I think the new Hawaii Five O has had many seasons and good ratings, so I guess its possible.

It's all just passing fluff until they do a real reboot of the only show that matters: Happy Days.

Oh, fucking hell.
I mean, I don't watch any shows from the networks anyway, so it's not like they're even trying to appeal to me... but this is also the way to make sure I stay away and find alternate content.

I've never understood why people get so upset or surprised because an ACTOR or a MUSICIAN turns out not to be a worthy "hero" or "role-model"... same with professional athletes.

In certain really extreme examples I can see "cancelling" a celebrity (lol) but just because a performer/competitor is an asshole IRL does not mean I still can't potentially enjoy their performance.
