lm running 2.5.5 fraps, regestered , its run perfect on the AMD 3200+ in games like bfv , half life and battlefield 2 , bf2 fraps at 10 to 30 fps on the 3200+, so l installed fraps into my AMD fx55 [ a better chip ! ] and it seems to frap [ record mode ] at 4 and 5 fps every time, lve tryed half size and a few other tricks, but it cant even do what the 3200+ can do under the same conditions , so , lm leaning towards a cpu technical possibly in the bios, to fix it, but im at a dead end as to do what next, lve even tryed stopping side band addressing to the cpu ! no work...
So have any of you out there had this problem ?
Does anyone have an AMD fx55 ? Can you install fraps and see what fps you record at ?

fx55 has sata hard disc scsi x2 on raid 0 [performance ], 2 gigs of pc3200 ram, x800xt,
the
3200+ ,sata x2 raid 0, 1.5 gig pc3200 ram, x800pro...

bfv 3200+ frapped at 40 to 50 fps

bfv fx55 frapped at 4 and 5 fps ...

ANY IDEAS ?

I see your communication skills have improved. anyway, i don't know what is wrong. also, you should upgrade to the latest version. that might help.

i dont see any hardware bottlenecks, what resolution are you trying to record?

If you are using the official version, you can always upgrade fraps for free. There are bug fixes related to half-size performance in the latest release.

Fraps is disk storage performance based. The big bottle neck is exactly which drive is storing your fraps videos. Also, I would turn off half-size if it is on, it causes Fraps to do more work for a worse quality end result.
