FRAPS codec issue

I am trying to record a short clip of a game I am playing and it seems to record just fine. However, when I try to replay this clip, it ends up crashing Windows Media Player. On the other hand, when I import it into Windows Movie Maker, the video works just fine in there. I do not have any codec packs installed and I have already tried reinstalling FRAPS just to make sure the fraps codec was installed properly. What could be causing this issue where I cannot replay the video in WMP? Thanks in advance.
