I was going to install Fraps to monitor my fps in hl2 but I read their little liscense agreement beforehand and toward the end it indicates that they can keep your info and contact you from time to time. I was particularly concerned with this portion:

PRIVACY POLICY. You grant Beepa the right to store your contact details and other related information in order for Beepa to contact you from time to time to provide you with information concerning the SOFTWARE. You acknowledge and accept that the SOFTWARE may periodically use your internet connection to communicate with Beepa?s servers over the internet including checking for updates and reporting configuration, diagnostic and error information. Your contact details and other related information will not be used for any other purposes nor sold to" any third party."

Is this normal procedure for most programs and I just haven't ready closely before?

Windows pretty much has privacy policies like that and lots of other programs. If you are worried, just use fake details, hotmail address, and a firewall to block the program.

how do you make the fps counter in halflife 2 bigger? I dont use it due to how small it is on the screen. I regularly use fraps because it's simple to use for a lot of cool things. Its easy to make a demo, take snap shots etc. I have had no problems with spyware or other malicious things happening for the year or so I have been using it, give it a shot

I didn't know that, I will give it a try, thanks.

And I may try Fraps anyways as most people seem to use it with no problems.

One question I still have, though, is what is Beepa?
