Maybe they shouldn't have bought all that oil outside of the UN sanctions and banked on having Iraq as a business partner?

Cry me a river of those crocodile tears, France.
Well, they are a victim of misinformation - I'll give them that. Check this out. So many anonymous sources - smells of propaganda to me. I won't believe half of the allegations made by the dsigruntled parties until I see the documentary evidence myself.

I do think our administration needs to publicly set the record straight as to what allegations that have been made in various ways are credible and which aren't, with regards to France,Germany, and Russia. We are partly to blame for the current muddled state of affairs and I believe it is in everyone's interest to have clarity.

And I also disagree with the notion of us having a reason to be mad.. I believe we had the right to disagree and take the action we did but we should respect the right of other nations to disagree and do what is in their own best interest.

Poor France! In bed with Arab dictators and totalitarian regimes and they can't stand the consequences. Tant pis!

As for China, ask anyone in the military how we approach that country. No one on this base has forgotten the EP-3, though all blame doesn't lie with the Chinese for that idiocy.

Speak for yourself on opening your legs -- what you do in your bedroom is not pertinent to a political discussion.

Not too bright are you? It's a metaphor. We buy buy buy from them and the government gives MFN to them dispite thier hateful attitude. As usual you can't see the hypocrisy of calling for boycotts of France while giving China a free pass to do worse because Mr. Bush has'nt told you to yet. Where do you think NK gets it's tech from?

Speaking of polling Red, over 70% of Americans can't find Iraq on a map.

Don't talk about my mom like that. :Q

I've had sushi and I tried a vegan burger... that's the one with double meat patties, right?

:)

If God meant for us to be vegetarians then why did he make animals out of delicious meat?

Aww, feel the love, Mike! But, sorry, I can't have a bitch -- I'm married. ;)

As for the comments responding to my post, it's apparent to a chimp that the U.S. and China are quite intertwined economically, but that doesn't mean the political situation is anything as close. I wouldn't be surprised to see statistics pointing to good trade ties between the US and Germany right up to the onset of WWII.

Personally, I do base my buying decisions on the "Made in China" label and look for alternatives either made in the States, Europe, or Taiwan (or elsewhere, just examples).

Oh, and care to back up your allegations regarding where North Korea receives its missile technology? I am exceptionally curious.

Probably the best reply I've seen in months to any topic in this forum.

There are lots of us who despised the French way before the current situation started heating up. F*ck the whole arrogant, socialist, anti-semitic lot of them.

(please note when i say "the French," i'm talking about their governmental and intellectual class, not the ordinary Jacques Shmoe private citizen frenchman just minding his own business. i'd no more abuse that person than Joe Sixpack here in the U.S. deserves crap for his government's conduct)

I researched this once for a paper. Don't have the ranking though. If I remember right, Germany was in the top 5 during many of those years. Additionally, subsidiaries of US companies operated in Germany (under German management) after formal declaration of war in Dec, 1941.

Year/Exports to/Imports from
1934/$109 mi/$78 mil
1935/$ 92 mil/$69 mil
1936/$102 mil/$80 mil
1937/$126 mil/$92 mil
1938/$107 mil/$65 mil
1939/$46 mil/$52 mil
1940/$ 0*/$05 mil
1941/$ 0*/$03 mil

*Officially, exports were banned to Germany by order of President of the US. There is evidence of "unofficial" transactions through 3rd parties.

What precisely do you puppets have against France anyway? You saw on Fox News that France was "bad" and now you hate them? You guys do realize that virtually everyone in the entire world was opposed to the U.S. action in Iraq, and you people are pissed because the French actually stood up to us? Now the US is saying boohoo....

Here's the smartest guy in the thread so far:

The french "intellectual" class are virulent anti-americans, more so than Wahabbi fanatics. Those snakes (the French) will bite us in the @$$ at every opportunity and snatch our power if given the chance.

That being said, I had my doubts as to how intimate the relationship between the fallen regime and the french were when Fox News reported that france was handing out EU passports to former iraqi officials and that people wanted to change the inherently smart "french" Poodles to Freedom Poodles. The next day, Fox News reported that France was giving aluminum cylinders (sic?) to the North Koreans to make nuclear weapons. While it may be true, I don't think the snake-like french would scoop that low to irritate the Administration. Or could they?
