Frame rate-How do I check/fix?

I have a Radeon 7500 in a p4 system. How do I check frame rate and increase it?

What game or application are you trying to check your frame rate in? Fix it? Do you think something is wrong?

No probelms I just want to make sure I am maximizing my potential. I am always accused of having more potential than I am actually using. My main purpose for max frame rate is HL, TFC, CS and the like.

You can get a program called Fraps that`ll display the Frame Rate (FPS) in any 3D application and DVD/Video files. You make make short movies with it as well, make a log file, set the FPS display check interval, where abouts on the screen that fps is displayed, and a few other things.
I use this program alot, and its saves me remembering loads and loads of different commands to display the fps in various games.
