Making automotive product purchase decisions are rather easy.....if it says FRAM anywhere on the packaging it is low grade crap. Fram has been riding brand name recognition for 40 years without investing one dime in R&D and as a result their products are the bottom of the barrel and I wouldn't even run them on a POS Honda.

Yes, Pennzoil, and unfortunately, some Honda filters.

Don't know about the Jiffly Lube filters, but the Pennzoil oil keeps me away from there anyway.

It doesn't matter if you use Fram, Ajax, Purolator or ISuckHindTit oil filters as long as you change your oil on a regular basis.

If you plan on using a synthetic oil and never changing your oil you might want to go with a better filter.

They're rebadged of something else... but they're pretty good too.

Been using fram oil filters for 2 cars now and have friends that use them in fleet cars (into the millions of miles)...no problems thus far attributed to the oil filters.

I think regular oil changes (every 3 months/3k miles) is more important than the brand or type of oil that is used. In fact, if you change your oil regularly, it probably doesn't matter much if you use fram or mobil 1.

Again, the above statements are for normal driving conditions, where the oil is not exposed to extreme temperatures or pressures from high performance driving. If you are using for racing applications, fram may not be as good.

STP, supertech, mobil, bosch, and k&n are made by champion labs. Quality filters, much better than fram IMO. But the k&n and the mobil are quite expensive at about $10 ea. whereas you could get two purolator pureone filters for that price.

Read up on those sights. They have some good info. Bobistheoilguy has good info on oil as well as filters on his forums.

Personally, I don't use fram anymore. If you're in a pinch, the $1.97 supertech filters at walmart are good. Otherwise, I try to use Purolator PureOne.

i've been a member of bob's forums for a while and it's an easy choice, if you can get purolator then get it.
