Nearly All Wi-Fi Devices Are Vulnerable to New FragAttacks
A set of new vulnerabilities—dubbed FragAttacks—affects nearly all Wi-Fi devices shipped in the past 24 years.

The wifi alliance says this is no big deal. Just patch (we know that's not going to happen for 99% of the devices). Many of these patches may also be technically very difficult.
Anything within radio range can attack another wifi device or try to gain access to a wifi enabled computer. That is, a compromised android can try to attack anything in wifi network range.
I for one have caught my android emitting when with wifi disabled, and in airplane mode, and while off (though we all know off is not really off unless until some time after the battery is removed).
