Your suggestion of eliminating fractions would severely limit the work possibilities of your child.
Learning fractions are the first step to learning complex equations.
If I just glance down at my desk right now, without moving any papers or opening any books/files, I can see these equations:
Q = k*A*dT / x
K = e^(-dG / (R*T))
i = roundup(ln(Ltot/L)/ln(2) +1)
I have thousands of similar equations within an arm's length of me.
If I didn't understand the concept of a fraction, could I truely understand those equations?
Please, tell me, what is the value of dG/RT in decimals?
If you can answer that question for me, you win the debate.
If not, then your daughter will need to learn fractions to have the opportunities for jobs in math, science, engineering, etc.
I'm waiting.
