Fracking Led to Ohio Earthquakes

If attempts are made to mitigate the risks of fracking, as they were in this case, then that seems reasonable. We don't stop drilling for oil because of the risks of spills. Nor mining coal because of the risk of cave-ins.

I've not studied fracking much at all, but the cheerleaders appear to me to have been saying that fracking isn't proven to do anything. Now that this thread refers to chances it does they are saying "yeah, but, it's not meaningful".

The people who refuse to accept the problems with fracking are the ones who'll never see anything wrong so long as it provides oil. I'm pretty sure if it were discovered a way to "frack" a fetus, then those same people would find a way to not only overturn abortion restrictions, but to make every 3rd pregnancy a mandatory Frackbortion™.

There are always pros and cons to energy development. Don't let anyone tell you there aren't side effects. However, those that believe only 100% safe, 100% environmentally friendly methods exist and should be used are delusional.

Part of his defense is that "To balance out other carbon emissions, the Gores invest money in projects to reduce energy consumption around the globe".

So in other words, he spends money to get people who aren't him to reduce their consumption so that he can feel good about his own consumption. Al Gore truly is a special level of asshole.

500 children go without heat so Al Gore doesn't have to wrap his water heater.
