FPS problems i believe it has to do with my current KB setup please help

ok so i have an Abit IT7 max board (original) and since it has no Legacy ports, i bout a PS2 to usb adapter. However it seems that whenever i try to play a FPS it will not take holding a key down, it will only everyonce in a while decide "hey i hit a key". Is this the problem? It is the adapter from Newegg, and cost a lot so if anyone could give me adive on how to negate this problem? or if i am assuming wrong

Is your keyboard wireless or corded?

Im off to bed now but will answer when i wake up if you let me know that small piece of info

bump, i now know it has to do with the PS2 to USB device i bought, the problem is not there when i use a Dell USB keyboard, (however that KB is needed on the dell)

any suggestions?
