FPS players are getting too picky....

I got done with school for the semester and bought FEAR and got Q4 for christmas. I read some reviews after playing about 70% of FEAR and about 3 hours of Q4. I find both great but different games. Many of the Q4 reviews blasted the game for being nothing special. IMO thats the beauty of Q4. Q2 is my all time favorite FPS and I'm glad they stayed true to it while still adding some new flair. It seems some people just don't want to be satisfied with a good old fashion shooter. I also love the more involved gameplay of HL2 but IMO thats a completely different style of game. All I gotta say is I'm gonna be pissed if they ever stop making the occasional shoot em' up game. Damn RPGers trying to play FPSers can't handle it LOL.

I also enjoyed Q4, FEAR and a few other recent games that alot of people crapped on. Thats ok though..if you don't like it then its no big deal. I understand the hype associated with those games and I guess folks expected too much. I just sat back, played all the games and enjoyed them.


I was somewhat disappointed with Serious Sam 2 though..something about it wasn't right.

By the way.. what kind of performance are you getting out of FEAR?

I got Serious Sam 2 the day it came out and I didn't play it through until Croteam released the latest patch enabling 1280x1024. The game is light hearted and frantic, I can't find any problems with it when viewed in that light.

I got Q4 for Christmas and it is fun, too. It's dark and serious - a completely different game than Sam 2.

IMO, both games stand well on their own from the perspective of this long time FPSer.

As more and more games come out, the blander and blander they get.

It is probably because we've played so many we've seen the same things over and over.

That why some of the older one-of-a-kind games from their generations are great games, but when a newer game comes out it is labeled as "generic".

best FPS for me is soldier of fortune 2..........that was beautiful mincing some poor russian commie with double UZI's. it was quality to see them dance while you filled them with 60 9mm rounds lol

Best FPS for me: CS:S. Perfect balance of technology and competition and fun make it such a great game. :thumbsup:

SoF 2 was the best multiplayer FPS game I have ever played. I've lost count at how many times i've said that. it had the best multiplayer of any game i have ever played and i've played a lot of them.

SoF 2 was the best multiplayer FPS game I have ever played. I've lost count at how many times i've said that. it had the best multiplayer of any game i have ever played and i've played a lot of them.

the only thing that can beat SOF2 MP for me is the original quake 1 and q1 ctf. otherwise, SOF2 is the best - there's nothing quit like taking off someone's leg with the pump shotty
