Just did a clean install of XP a few days ago on a new HD. I loaded the nForce 5.10 drivers along with the 71.89 video drivers. I was having issues with DirectX games not working, so I found the beta 6.14 NForce drivers and installed them. (Later I found out I had to disable fastwrite in the BIOS, that fixed my problem with directx games). Before I found the BIOS fix, I reverted back to the 5.10 drivers......
Today I was running some benchmarks in Quake3 and noticed that I was only getting 330 FPS, no matter what. I would enable/disable AA 4x and I would get the same FPS. So I got another HD, did a clean XP install and got 440FPS in Q3... I've uninstalled the drivers on the XP install I'm having problems with and reinstalled them. (I used driver cleaner pro in safemode w/ cab cleaner).. Still I'm getting 330FPS in Quake3, much lower than I should be getting. I'm posting this in hopes of something will have an idea to fix my problem so I won't have to format and reinstall XP again.
