fps goes down when people join server why?

okay got a small problem, that does not seem to make sense....

in the game crysis 64 bit multiplayer on map mesa, any resolution, any graphics settings i change them to, does not improve my FPS with a lot of people on server, however when it is only 4v4 in the server my fps is at 45-60 constantly, but when more people join it starts to tickle down to eventually 14v14 in server im getting 27 fps!!!

example:
1920x1080p @ 60hz very high 2xAA 27 fps with 28 people in server..
1920x1080p @ 60hz low No AA 29 fps with 28 people in server..
1440x900 @ 60hz very high 2xAA 32 fps with 28 people in server..
1440x900 @ 60hz low NO AA 39 fps with 28 people in server..

system:
phenom 955 3.2ghz black edition quad core
some gigabyte motherboard
4gb gskill mem
6850 1gig
500gb WD hdd
80gig hitachi spare
windows 7 64 bit

how does this make sense? i notice the more people that join the server the more my fps goes down. is my cpu now a bottleneck?! i practically got this not even a year ago

Probably the net code. I'd say the network code in Crysis is very unoptimized. This isn't Epic or ID software here who make excellent multiplayer shooter network engines.
 
EA and their studios are probably THE WORSE at doing anything that has anything to do with MP, i tend to stay away from their games, all they do is give me more trouble than what they're worth.

Very true. I don't play much MP though myself. I'm not competitive enough to get into it.
 
nice, the only reason im playing crysis is for the amazing graphics and strategic gameplay i am constantly figuring out new places to set mines 😀
