Using net_graph 3 on console, I notice that I only get aroung 72 fps with the 9800 pro 256 mb.

What is everyone else getting and what do you suggest?

85fps, limited only by vsync.

To solve your problem, type "fps_max 99" in the console.

Try typing fps_max in console, if it says 72 then ur capped at 72, type fps_max 99, or devloper 101 then fps_max 9999999 and u can realy see how high ur fps will go :)

I usualy keep my fps in Cs under my refreshrate cuz i start getting lines across my screen and it gets very annoying and effects my aiming

I have a 17" NEC 1760 lcd and the max refesh rate is 75. Is that maybe why I'm capped at 72 fps?

Also, Net_graph does not factor in Vsync

Mine is pretty much always 99 or 85 depending on what I have for a res. though smoke is a bit of a pain.

I played clanning TFC and on TFC clanning forums, people with 9800pros constantly complain about low fps. For some reason, the card/drivers don't like steam all too well.

As long as you're are getting 60+, who cares? The difference between 30 and 60 is noticeable, but past that, not really.

well, at least to me 60 fps and 100 fps in cs is pretty much noticeable, and it really makes me uncomfortable playing below 85, but that's maybe i'm used to 100 fps.

When I had my GF4 440mx I got 70-100fps. But i'm pretty much getting 100 constant with my Radeon 9800 256mb.
