FPS drop when moving HDD from P3 1GHZ, to P4 1.7GHZ - GF2

After I got my new P4 I experienced a HUGE drop in FPS when moving my HDD from P3 1GHZ to P4 1.7GHZ, it went from like 100FPS in Q3 @ 1024x768 to like 63fps! I have the latest drivers but they dont seem to help. If I switch the card and my HD back in my old system the fps is 90 as always, so wtf any ideas? btw.. it my display panel says my interface is AGP4X but its "off" and so is sidebanding. Any ideas? :-/
 
you have a VIA chipset dont you?? i have the same problem with my Nvidia card too... i haven't found a solution yet either.
