This may make some heads explode. A Public Policy Polling poll of 1,151 voters finds Fox News is the most trusted (49%) and least distrusted (37%) television news channel. CNN scored second a full ten points behind, while ABC fared worst with only 31% trusting them and 46% not trusting them. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0110/32039.html

Dean Debnam, president of the Democrat PPP polling institute, added his own spin, saying "A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most neutral and unbiased conveyors of news. But the media landscape has really changed, and now they’re turning more toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear.” Hey, sometimes you do a poll and the results embarrass you, pal.

If i had been an American, i'd try to hide this info as best as i could.

It generally means that people trust opinions more than facts.

I'd see that coming in Yemen or Darfur but in the US? Are people really that fucked up in he US?

You just had to poke the bear didn't you? :p

I "trust" them in the sense that I know they will spin "news" more effectively towards their target audience. Certainly MSNBC does that as well, so it's not just Fox.

Unfortunately I haven't confidence that I'll find objective (or as objective as is humanly possible) reporting from any source. News is entertainment.

lol

Who cares really? I don't get these threads that tout ratings #'s and other BS like that. Unless you are in their marketing dept, why the F would you care? Is it like rooting for sports teams, but for political dorks?

Mc Donalds is the biggest restaurant in the world, but it doesn't mean their food is the best. G/l w/ your daily affirmation.

The opinion shows have no bearing on the relevance or factual nature of its news department.

Not really surprising news. People wouldn't willingly tune in if they thought they were being spoon fed bullshit, would they? As we have covered here over and over, only fools need their news with a side helping of commentary and opinion. Cable news cater to these folks and Fox is the hands down winner when it comes to idiot wrangling. Can't blame them for exploiting a known money maker, if they didn't someone else would.

Recent studies (such as those done by the Pew Research Center) have recently indicated that FNC is the least bias news source.

It is not surprising that FNC is the most trusted news outlet considering it is the least bias.

Good lord, syphilis does terrible things to the mind. You, sir, are far past the stage of using logic. For your own safety, please stick to name-calling and shitting yourself.

Wow... This argument again. lol...

Personally... if it doesn't lean left, it must be FOX. (Buncha crazy RRR slanted news fiends!!!) *sigh*

The only news network (commentary shows aside) that doesn't toe the lefty party line. AND of course I'm an idiot for thinking that CNN, MSNBC, NPR, et al are not completely unbiased in their presentation of the 'news'

Yup... they're all completely neutral. It's FOX that's biased. Ok

Actually that is very true. Fox and MSNBC had their ratings go up as they both swing to the right/left. MSNBC still has some ex-republican congressman and other middle right people but they have been moving away from the middle and swinging left opinion shows more.
CNN is getting rid of that type of thing thinking people just want news and not biased right wing/leftist bias. Their ratings, went down.
