Foxit pdf viewer fail

I tried to support this alternative to Adobe but I have have to give up with it. The constant crashes when opening pdf files are getting too much so I am abandoning my support for the underdog.

If your looking for just a viewer why not give Evince a try? I use on my PeppermintOS machine and it works great. I think they have a Windows version to so don't let the Linux thing scare ya.

It's your PC.
I haven't had it crash on me once in whole year or who knows how long I've been using it.

The only thing I don't like about it is the interface. I've used Adobe Reader for way too long.

Ever since Firefox started reading PDFs on its own, without a plugin, I stopped using PDF readers altogether.

But I don't read PDFs all that much anyway.

6.06..... is working flawlessly for me + integrates well with IE11 under Win 7. I did have a few problems with the latest version 6.1 .....
Tenpole what OS are you running?

Foxit > Adobe Reader. It also read the only copy I could find of a particular PDF where reading certain pages in AR would crash. So my experience has been the diametric opposite of yours...

All of the computers in my logic design class at my university run foxit reader. Haven't had any issues there. I run foxit reader when im in windows, no issues.

Honestly I can't think of a single time Foxit has crashed on me in the last 3+ years of using it on winxp and win7. It probably has at some point, but this has never been a concern. I'm not happy that some of the free features were stripped over time but I can't say I haven't gotten far more than my money's worth...

Evince is what I use on all platforms. Sumatra I like as a portable app cause it's very light, and starts quick. Adobe is persona non grata on my systems.

I am using Windows 7 on an A8 Laptop. If it is my computer causing the problem I think changing to adobe is a better option than getting a new laptop.

I tried to like Foxit but I was just lying to myself thinking it's ok

the interface is simply garbage

It does an excellent job mimicking the Office 2013 ribbon interface. Are you still on Office 2007?

One of the reason I original chose to find something different to adobe was because of the large folder size and no option to install elsewhere. I am using a SSD on my laptop with a 1gb h/d on the optical bay.
