Foxconn Quantum force "Blood Rage" X58 board - VR-Zone

i have been drooling over this board since i saw the review for it the day it was released. spent about 20 minutes searching the mobo section since i was certain there had to have been a posting about it before now, but i came up empty handed so i figured i would put this board up for discussion. so far the major downside i have identified is only 3 DIMM Slots, but this is offset by the presence of SAS ports! i mean WTF, SAS ON AN ENTHUSIAST BOARD! /cruise control off. considering nehalem was designed around being a server platform to start with, with a focus on the enthusiast sector for the initial launch, this is hardly out of the ordinary, and with the prices of SAS storage devices dropping to affordable price points i would almost consider getting the board just for this feature, if not for the hydra 100 support and the fact that it comes with a free NB waterblock and X-Fi integrated sound.

thoughts? i havent used any foxconn products before, though i think my NF47 mobo was manufactured on contract with EVGA by them, just RMAed it for bad caps. are there any issues foxconn has that i should be aware of, or that are glaringly obvious to the well trained eye who isnt set on drooling over the latest and greatest hardware half their waking hours.

Foxconn have been hammering the enthusiast market recently with top quality boards- I'm glad there is another player. So many options now, we have the big 4 plus DFI and Biostar to choose from- spoiled for choice.

damn, i saw the link in that other thread about foxconn possibly stopping their production of mainstream/enthusiast motherboards. thats going to really suck if it's true, foxconn makes really good boards. it would be odd though for them to stop making their own boards, since as far as i know they also make motherboards on contract with EVGA, and they arent leaving the enthusiast/mainstream markets anytime soon.

Damn that's one attractive looking board, & i don't even really like red.

But only 3 DIMM slots = epic fail.

Otherwise, it looks great.

Hey faxon (joined because of this post). Do you have any official documents stating that the Blood Rage will definitely contain the Hydra 100 chip?
