this mobo has two yellow and two blue slots for memory.yeah i know so what's new about that lol. my question for you experts is in the pdf manual the mobo pictorial labels the yellow as ddr2 and the blue as ddr. however the written instructions state the exact opposite. so what is what?

right now i have the yellow slots populated with the memory which is ddr2 533 240 pin. will either color coded set of slots take 184 pin and 240 pin memory ?
i discovered this anomoly when reading up to install a new larger sata hard drive and while its open i would like to correct any mistake i might have made.

renethx,

i guess i had it right as the sticks would not line up with the blue slots. so you cannot mistakenly populate 184 pin with 240 pin.
the mobo is a p4m800p7ma-rs2h i use it for the family general purpose pc. e-mail
, net surfing, shopping and light duty stuff like that.

its now time to crack a cold brewski and get to image the old drives. this will be fun as that is something i have not done yet. !

You are right. The notch on DDR2 DIMMs is in a different position than DDR DIMMs.
