I never see ANY i7 builds using this bit of kit... kind of suprises me, if only due to the sexiness factor. Any particular reason?

It only supports 6GB of RAM, probably not an issue for most, but I would skip it for that reason alone.

You run a lot of Virtual Machines I take it?
I don't like this board. I don't know how I can sum it up any better than that. Normally I'd write here and make some comment about how the board's minor issues and overclocking can all be improved with a BIOS update. At this time there are a ton of BIOS revisions out there and I've read a wide variety of experiences concerning many of them so this goes without saying. Overclocking and the SAS controller issues certainly can improve with new BIOS revisions. However the things I hate about this board simply can't be fixed with a BIOS update.
The expansion slot layout makes very little sense. Sure if you only run one GPU and few expansion cards I'm sure it will be fine but I can't excuse the slot configuration for any reason because it flat out doesn't have to be this way. Worse yet is that the board claims 3-Way SLI support which is laughable at best.
I not only don?t like the BloodRage motherboard, I hate it and hope to never have to ever use it again. The BloodRage was problematic from the moment I opened the box and got a huge metal splinter stuck into my finger from the machined logo on the LN2 cup that was not deburred or cleaned up.
