I never see ANY i7 builds using this bit of kit... kind of suprises me, if only due to the sexiness factor. Any particular reason?

Foxconn and asrock have tried to establish themselves in the enthusiast market, but most folks will stick with names like asus and gigabyte. I use asrock boards, and they work ok. Bit many will pay a little more for names they trust. The lesser brands also have fewer bios updates and less info on their websites.

I have a Bloodrage; its been great so far and you can find decent support on XS. I do know it doesnt like cheap ram; even cl9 1.5. G-skill or supertalent, that I am aware of. you will get stuck at Bclock of 180

The Blood Rage and the Gigabyte UD5 are on my short list of boards to build around, and I keep waiting for someone to recommend or use it for a build. I admit that support for a board is not a priority, so this seems like the #1 reason why most builders are ignoring it, but I will risk it and try it for my build.

I'd love to hear from more Blood Rage owners on their recommended RAM/HSF and hardware setups. I have a Zerotherm Nirvana NV120 on my Q6700, and I just heard there was an i7 mount available for the CPU.

It only supports 6GB of RAM, probably not an issue for most, but I would skip it for that reason alone.

You run a lot of Virtual Machines I take it?

AutoCAD and 3dsMAX will eat all the RAM you can give them.

Hardforums did a review of the BloodRage -- no so good...

I don't like this board. I don't know how I can sum it up any better than that. Normally I'd write here and make some comment about how the board's minor issues and overclocking can all be improved with a BIOS update. At this time there are a ton of BIOS revisions out there and I've read a wide variety of experiences concerning many of them so this goes without saying. Overclocking and the SAS controller issues certainly can improve with new BIOS revisions. However the things I hate about this board simply can't be fixed with a BIOS update.

The expansion slot layout makes very little sense. Sure if you only run one GPU and few expansion cards I'm sure it will be fine but I can't excuse the slot configuration for any reason because it flat out doesn't have to be this way. Worse yet is that the board claims 3-Way SLI support which is laughable at best.

or how about

I not only don?t like the BloodRage motherboard, I hate it and hope to never have to ever use it again. The BloodRage was problematic from the moment I opened the box and got a huge metal splinter stuck into my finger from the machined logo on the LN2 cup that was not deburred or cleaned up.

I am a huge fan of ASRock MB...They are subsidies of ASUS.
The only reason I went with Asus P6T is because ASRock LGA1333 Deluxe was out of stock from newegg.
