Foxconn has another rebate house (yeah!). They used to have the awful Myrebates 411 outfit.

Looks like a deal!

Edit: Live.com cashback was 2.75% last time I looked. Pays for your rebate stamp.

You will have to fight for them. Hope you have copies. They bit me once 2 years ago. I stopped buying anything with Myrebates 411. Some have luck calling and being paid by Newegg.

The 740G chipset is simply rebadged 690G with AM2+ support for low-powered phenoms. Just a tad bit of info for those who are wondering. The IGP performance for 690G is good for HD video playback, but don't expect it to be anywhere near 780/790G's.

Thanks for the info razor. For a few buck more I'm guessing you'd recommend a 780 board???

If a 780 board comes out for around this price, I might have to make the jump to AM2/AM2+ and leave myself the option of going Phenom sometime.

wow.. this has onboard video too! Should be fine for most non 1080p content, no? I bet this will run EVE Online without premium content and probably do premium at low to mid settings.

Does anyone know if this board can OC cpus?

EDIT: Never mind. Apparently it can according to reviews.

the video shoudl be fine for 1080. its a 690g core, so its liek a 4pipe radeon x700 . I think the decode is only partial for HD though.

If you want to do 1080p content it might be worth it to spend a little more and get a 780G board .

I am not sure if this particular board o/cs, but I have the foxconn 780g microatx and it has voltage tweaks for everything , south , northbridges, cpu , memory.

Wait... Can you please explain? I see AMD 740G listed on the specs page, so how can this be a 690g core?

the 690g is 80nm. the 740g is a 690g at 55nm. same chip though more or less.
