They played this on the morning local news and the start of the Today show. The first punch that Assad dude threw was a whopper. Huge looping right that caught the reporter right on the eyesocket/cheek. Then they went to the ground and it looked like Assad was trying to scoop the reporters eyes out with his fingers. Apparently he didn't want to be interviewed...

like hungfarover said, this was on the today show this morn and it looked vicious. The guy was digging at this guys eye sockets and biting him too. The reporter who was attacked was interviewed this morn and he looked pretty thrashed. Had a few cracked ribs.

What was odd was Matt Lauer called out the camera man for not helping and the guy who was attacked defended the camera guy saying "he was a professional doing his job." to which Lauer responded "For 6 minutes?????" LOL

That crime doesn't necessarily have anything to do with terrorism in the sense that the word is typically used these days. It just means they made a threat with the intent to scare ("terrorize") someone.
