I was renting a movie tonight and as I walked out of blockbuster some guy with a huge camera ran up to me and asked me if I "had heard the news." I was like "no." Then he explained that Bobby *something* was fired by MSU from the football program. He asked me if I would like to voice my opinion for the news tonight, but I told him I don't know anything about sports and I never heard of the man before.

I'm sure you could have given a better answer than most people interviewed on TV.

I always watch the news and they are commenting about a tragic accident or a murder, and they are smiling because "Hey, they're on TV!"

You should've said yes and then just act really passionate about it, and then leave them scratching their heads by yelling something like "and tv's leading our kids down a moral sewer" or something like that.

Be glad you had no clue. I was interviewed after Bush Sr. spoke at my high school. I brought a book to read since I thought it was going to be boring as hell. I actually listened to his entire speech. I was interviewed on the way out, and said (iirc) "I brought this book to read, but Bush held my attention... " and went on longer. I was quoted as "I brought this lovely book to read..."

ARGH! When you are 17 in HS, that is not something youw ant printed and attributed to you. I was grilled because of it till I graduated :)

I was thinking I should have said, "Yeah, it's a real disappointment. Bobby was a true asset to the school and to the community. This is a dark moment in the world of sports but I am sure there will be darker moments in the future. The loss is great, but it something we can overcome through hard work and determination.?

Well, Bobby Williams, took MSU into the tank this year. Players are either going into substance abuse programs or being busted for running from the cops.

I was at a gas station one time and a local news station was there doing interviews, I guess about gas prices or gasoline tax or something. The reporter and camera man came up to me as I was getting out of my car, she started to introduce herself and I said "No thanks, I'm not interested in buying anything" and pushed right passed her.

Although it's really unprofessional to alter someone's quote.
