They posted a joke article on The Onion about Obama writing a 75,000 word e-mail and sending it to America as if it was real. For those who want to retract it, they didn't have "the onion" in the title of the article or any indication in the article that it was a joke until hours after the article was posted, after it was spread all around the internet that they did post it. Eventually they just took the article off their website.

I'm genuinely curious. I've never heard of fox nation.

Foxs way of saying they are behind the teabaggers and put this up to make sure they get their "news" from fox.

i.e. its fox news like xfinity is comcast. Samething just different wrapper to look less crappy, but only fools idiots; you should love it.

I love how you made a sort of informative post that explained my question, but you just couldn't hold back that personal attack at the end because thats just who you are.

If you have to ask a question, you obviously aren't a member of the enlightened. You deserve it, idiot.

not surprising, really, considering how often things get posted as fact without any fact checking. And fox isn't the only one guilty of this.

This amused me:

So, "opposed" to intolerance and monopolization of opinion, yet the invite singles out "Those who share these values."

"Opposed" to suppression of freedom of expression, yet right above it is a "TM" where they trademarked, "America's Talking."

Ahhh... the Mask of Sanity; I do know thee well. Such a fine face, but the truth leaks out around the edges.

Too bad the original article on the website is gone now. The comments left by the enlightened readers of Fox Nation were simply comedy gold.

The 5 rows of stars on the U.S. Flag is a nice touch as well.

I never heard of this site either.

Though the site is owned by Fox News it seems to be a separate entity. Pretty much like MSNBC is owned by NBC but each has its own editorial management team.

So, the thread topic is misleading at best and a deliberate outright lie at worst. Why am I not surprised?

Is the real issue here that The Onion was not properly attributed?

If I glance at the rest of the posted articles I see that at the bottom of each there is a link to the story originators, ie The Washington Post for the story about Obama's lip stitches.

Was this link not in the original Onion post?

Personally, as the libs get their news from The Jon Stewart Show and are inordinately proud of it, I think people of a progressive bent would be better served and better informed by getting their news from The Onion.

Fox News posts Onion Article as Truth

The Supreme Court ruled Fox is an Entertainment organization earlier this year under the name of Fox "News". It is not really "news" so they can post and put on air anything they want even if 110% lies and bullshit.

Can't help that Americans are too stupid they are being lied to.

Robert Murdock and his Fox minions are the Information Ministers of the U.S.

They learned well from Iraq.

Fox Nation is kind of blog, in which users can post stories.

Sounds like a setup to me, actually.

Any word on who the author of the story was listed as?

At the bottom of the article, it says "Read the rest of the story at theonion.com" So it was linked, and attributed.

Why is this threadworthy again?

Because a news site posted a parody article as real news, the mongoloids who frequent the site went into a hilariously stupid feeding frenzy about how crappy Obama was because of the parody article, and then the site 404ed it out of shame, trying to pretend it didn't exist. It's not important, earth shattering news, it's a reason to laugh at stupid people.

On a related note, I have now received that article forwarded to me as real news by two relatives. It's a sad day, first because that means this IS being taken as real news by people, and secondly because it appears that my relatives aren't the brightest bulbs either.
