From the LA Times:

The new channel also will feature 3 1/2 hours of news shows provided by ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and Fox as a public service, bringing Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, Brit Hume and Jim Lehrer to Iraqi television. The programs will be shown in their entirety in English with Arabic subtitles.

"For decades, the Iraqi people have heard nothing but totalitarian propaganda that was designed to prop up the regime of Saddam Hussein," said White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer. "That will now change, and that is for the good of the Iraqi people."

Why single out just FOX in your title if programs from all news channels will be available?

LOL. So now they will get US propaganda instead? What about BBC, CBC, Al-Jazeera?

They didnt support US war, so nothing for them. As for BBC, I'm sure they will get on there soon. I think they should put ITN up there.

Jim Lehrer (PBS) is the only one that deserves to be broadcast in Iraq. The others are American shrill.

With the decisions pending in front of the FCC do you really expect anything less?

That was my first thought. We'll show them how propaganda is really done. By the time we're done, there'll be a starbucks on every corner, and instead of having just one choice of leader, they'll have two different leaders to choose from.

Why limit it to just that one station when there's the choice of that channel IN ADDITION to other channels? Since when is having less choices a good thing?

Why should we limit their choices based on your opinion? You shouldn't push your opinion on other people. Give them a choice.

Now there's a great idea, feed the Iraqi people a steady diet of al-Jazeera...

I think BBC was Al-Jazeera's sister station during the war as well.
