Suppressing the minority vote has actually had the opposite effect.
Pissing off minorities to the point they jump thru the hoops created in republican states to... VOTE.
And the only way to stir up the white vote like Fox predicts is to demonize all minorities, including the gays and their advances thru the courts by hyping that up into a false sense of direct threat for each and every American white man and white woman and their white children.
In other words, play on their fears, create illogical fears, and then suck up to the simple minded white voter.
The problem is, a hell of a lot of white voters love Bill Clinton.
And that same stupidity that might stir up the white voter also stirs up the white voter whom believe a vote for Hillary is a vote for Bill.
So right there the republicans lose a huge chunk of their white voter base.
Ain't no love like the love for Bill Clinton.
After all, Bill talks their language, is as sexually screwed up as they are so they relate, and by voting for Hillary they know Bill will always be close by.
In past elections the polls have been very close, especially the last few months.
It will be interesting to see if Hillary can maintain a huge advantage through out the cycle.
And I see no republican candidate that has the advantage or the popularity that Hillary easily takes for granted.
The press lives on her every word. Something they have never done with any of the republican candidates.
I say just let her have it, save the country all the time, money, and stress, and republicans can start planning for 2024 instead.

I'd vote for Sanders, but he's got the same chance Ron Paul did. Hillary will grind Sanders into a pulp before she lets some old guy get in the way of her divine right to the White House.

The "max white votes" strategy is one that the Republicans will play at their peril.

Democrats have over that time averaged ~40% of the votes among white voters. Obama got 43% of the white votes in 2008 and 39% in 2012. He may win 10% of the whites in Mississippi but well over 50% of the white voters in places with few minorities such as New Hampshire or Vermont.

Who cares if Republicans get 95% of the white votes in Alabama/Tennessee/Texas instead of 90%. The Republicans will need to concentrate their efforts in the industrial rustbelt and midwest i.e. OH, IA, WI, PA, MI without energizing the minority votes. The problem is that battleground states such as OH, VA, FL, CO, PA, etc all have growing or sizable minority populations. The Republicans will need to continue to get more and more of the white votes in those states as the percentage of white voters decline as a percentage of the electorate. In 2004, Bush was able get 58% of the white votes in part by driving conservative voters to the poll with wedge issue i.e. gay marriage bans in many battle ground states. In 2016, if the percentage of white votes declines to 70% from 72%, Bush's 2004 numbers would not be enough for Republicans to win.
