Fox News digs up a mole and fires him

Fox News on Wednesday said it was firing an employee who had anonymously posted videos and comments about behind-the-scenes workdays at the television network, leading media website Gawker to dub him the "mole."

The posts became widely discussed on social media and in newsrooms across the United States because they purported to give a glimpse inside the news channel known for conservative personalities such as O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

Muto's posts included a video of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's off-air banter in an interview with Hannity in which the politician was caught on camera using the word "dressage" about horses.

"I think Mitt loses points with the GOP base for his correct pronunciation of dressage," Muto posted.

Another post railed about a gap in the bathroom stalls, with photo included, at Fox headquarters in New York.

I fear for the Republic when someone can be "caught" speaking in an educated manner. So the implication is that he is guilty of having an educated vocabulary?

Wait...someone is complaining that an employee was fired for breaking the rules at the company where the employee works?

yeah i don't get why this is news. ANY news agency (or business) would fire someone doing that.

FoxNews did it, so it must be evil and horrible and all libs must gather together in a circle jerk over it. That is why it became news, imo.

Can you quote the person complaining, or is this just a straw man?

No one has complained. It's cybrsage yet again playing the victim card, this time for Fox News. No one made any complaints that he was fired, the topic was about how he was caught and fired but no complaints. But if cybrsage didn't play the victim card he wouldn't be posting in P&N.

The mole is a hero
Um, no. The mole betrayed his employer's and his coworkers' trust for political reasons; he is in no way even remotely admirable.

If you can no longer take your employer's money in good faith, then quit and criticize to your heart's content. But if you take a man's money, you owe him honesty.

Doctor Ess-Ah-Jay. Why, how do you say it?

I pronounce it correctly, which I presume is the same way Romney does.

I just want to know what amusing way the GOP base want to say it to presumably a) not sound French; b)pretend they never went to school.

Not at all. The guy was a dumbass, anyway, apparently busted because of his at work web history. WTF kind of organization did he think he was working for, anyway?

It's kinda like having one of your spies caught... well, at least we don't live in that Faux News perfect country of Wingnutlandia, where they could have executed him...

Not going to say that you're wrong... but I just vehemently disagree with you.

I agree that a mole is a traitor, but still in my book I find it oddly refreshing. When only lying ratfinks work for Fox, sometimes a mole sounds more cuddly than a rat. Call it the Rupert Murdock effect.

One thing I learned rather quickly out of graduate school was the bigger your vocabulary the less people understand what you are talking about. Even if you are not attempting to be condescending it can appear that way if you have to explain words too often. It is also important to always have people underestimate you rather than the opposite because it gives you all the power. For these reasons I pretty much dropped my extended vocabulary around most people. You simply have to know your audience. Seems Mitt is right on target here in my opinion.

Ratfink does not mean what you think it means.
