Here is a different show that repeated the bald face lie...amazing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mid38C14xRk

Here the original with 2 of the 3 tools...

Thanks.

But let me get this straight on just who the evil ones are:

a) some schools for not letting their kids celebrate Halloween

b) some Christians for not letting their kids celebrate Halloween

c) Fox News news commentary show expressing an opinion (aka "whining" if you disagree with their opinion) regarding the reason why schools are no longer letting the kids celebrate Halloween

It's getting tougher and tougher to keep track of who's the "good guys" vs the "bad guys".

A and B. C is just the usual getting-paid-to-express-your-opinion inanity.

The schools who don't let kids celebrate Halloween are being stupid and the Christians who want to call it "Jesusween" and/or don't let their kids celebrate Halloween are being stupid too. They're all in the same boat.

I wonder how people would react if our schools started allowing the celebration of Jesusween? Purely in the interest of diversity and respect for social, financial and cultural differences among our families.

As usual, it depends on where these schools are located that allow such things. Try to celebrate Jesusween in a San Francisco public school and you'll probably be denied... just like GSAs/10%-socities in public schools in various rural, southern, and highly religious areas would be denied.

Different locales have different biases for or against certain social, financial, cultural, and sexual orientation/gender differences.

Example:

MLK Jr. day in NYC. Celebrated.

Is it celebrated in Nebraska? Do you get a day off from school?

What is bad is not the objection to a pagan holiday. Hell (pun intended), Christmas was moved from the middle of summer to supplant the HUGE pagan holidays coincident with winter solstice. http://www.hyperhistory.net/apwh/essays/cot/t0w32christmas.htm

There are even those that say it was moved to supplant Hanukkah, but whatever.

What IS bad is the willing suppression of such holidays, so long as they pose no real risk to participants or non-participants. Schools can put restrictions on things like costumes if they pose a risk, or are a major distraction, but absolute forbiddance is rather draconian.

As for Faux and "Friends", they are just beating whatever drum they can get their hands on in order to generate viewership amongst their neo-con easily indignified base.

If yelling about Halloween gets them ratings, they will yell. So long as it does not offend their own cultivated base.

WTF? I dont think you all watched the video...neither host is calling for the ban on Halloween activites or costumes...theyre reporting on how some school districts are banning Halloween costumes for fear of offending immigrants.

Faux outrage not found.

It has always baffled me why hardcore Christians are like that. Are they so insecure in their own faith that they think celebrating a silly holiday like Halloween will undermine it and cause people to turn away?
America as a whole is very insecure. Crying is gay, hugging is gay, admitting you cuddle with your wife is gay, playing sports is gay (naked in the showers together), not playing sports is gay (?reason?).
This is just another extension of that. It's not just religious people. Atheists are guilty of the same thing.

The rest of the world looks the US and wonders how it got that way. European men hug each other. They quietly don't believe in god or quietly believe in god. They cuddle without fear of catching The Gay. I always wonder why the US is so different.

Yeah, its really a matter of childish insecurity. As some people grow out of puberty into adulthood and beyond they just find more and more ways to rationalize that insecurity.

You need to read the OP a little more closely. He never said the Fox commentators were calling for a ban. He said they were hypocritical for criticizing these schools for disallowing Halloween costumes and not mentioning that it is Christian groups who have objected to Halloween in the past. One commentator says "I can't recall any group objecting to Halloween before" as if there had never been an objection from Christians. That was the OP's point.

Don't worry, Halloween is almost over and soon Faux news will be into the"War on Christmas" again...maybe they'll sneak a "War on Thanksgiving" in there somehow.

Really? Fuck the immigrants if they're offended. We don't need to change our customs for fear of offending them; they need to get it in their heads that they're in a different country now.

kad, we are a NATION of immigrants.

The sooner we stop alienating anyone who is not the eldest of the bunch, maybe the sooner we can focus on other things.

That's not the story. You can always find a few who object to Halloween for various reasons. My point is the OVERWELMING objectors to Halloween are Christians. Fox knows this story would piss off their base so they search high and low for some liberals who object and run the story as if they are the problem.

Total and complete distortion.

You are right, that's not the story, but then again this is just your story.

So are you saying the OVERWELMING majority of objectors to Halloween are not Christians? Look it up. You'll find "my" story is correct.
