I'm sure if a conservative 16 year old kid was skipping school to protest the federal debt ($22.6 trillion and counting) and used "how dare you" speeches in front of Congress or the U.N. the progressives here would fall over themselves to cut social spending based on the kids' moral authority on the issue. After all the debt will much more directly and adversely impact her when she's grown up then climate change ever will. That's the way all policy will be made now, whichever teenager gives the most impassioned plea for their pet cause, no need for elections or anything.
Unfortunately, thanks to the current state of the gop and foxnews and its influence, any conservative 16 year who would also be the type to be speak at that level would likely have a background of racist statements, white supremacy and trolling.

I've only just learned of this person. From what I see from her craziness, she seems either mentally ill or very heavily evangelically indoctrinated. Liberalism is a religion today.

Oh it turns out Laura Ingraham called her a ‘children of the corn’ so forget about what I said earlier about Fox.

Hey conservatives here’s a hint - when children say things you disagree with the right answer is not to personally insult the child. How dumb do you have to be to not grasp this simple reality.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, I thought networks, especially news networks all have a 30 second lag time in their broadcasting to edit out material they don't agree with or may get into trouble for?

If so, FOX could'a edited out that "offensive comment" and kept it out of their broadcast. Ergo, it seems to me they intentionally wanted to get that part of the message out there and then provide cover for themselves by "apologizing" after the fact when they could have done something about it during the broadcast.

the kid is a pawn and sold out by her elders. “The world must heed this 16-year-old girl” will turn around and say to anyone who pushes back, “How dare you criticize a 16-year-old girl?” she is nothing but a marinate puppet with adults pulling her strings and writing her play.
Who knew call a teenage girl "mentally ill" was just "pushing back"

You guys realize of course that you could simply point out where you think she's incorrect without personally insulting a child, right? Lol. It's amazing that option did not appear to occur to you.

Wait, so you don't think skipping school is appropriate, you don't think that them getting in front of the world is appropriate, and you don't think that them taking to social media is appropriate. Sounds more like you want them to sit down and shut the fuck up.

She's done more in the last 6 months than you've done in your entire life. If you're jealous, that's fine, but get off your ass and do something instead of whining about her on the internet.

With righties, when they can't argue the merits of the grievance they say the people are protesting wrong. Usually with PoC, but lately with children also.

Fox calls an indoctrinated 16 year old mentally ill, the liberals here are outraged.

The liberal media makes up a narrative of racism regarding high school kids at a pro life march, liberals still hate those kids and don't care that the media completely lied.

Hey guys look: SlowSpyder, the guy who routinely links to places like Breitbart, is very concerned about the honesty of the media.

I assume you are talking about the smug faced kids who got in the face of an elderly native American in DC. Show me any mainstream media outlet that called them racist.

Small brains aren't capable of much. Notice the similar reactions from Trump. They all think alike.

The young girl is perfectly right in terms of her positions and assertions and fox news continues to reach new lows.

Obviously a conservative would never consider cutting the bloated military budget, just spending that helps regular people instead of fat cat military contractors. And they'd never consider raising taxes to pay for all the things they want because they'll be dead so they dgaf.

But conservatives don't care about the debt, which you obviously know. So I'm not sure what your point is.

It's all visuals and feelings. Did the young lady impart any information you didn't already have? Did she have a unique solution for dealing with the issue? What I saw was a kid indoctrinated. She's been taught that the world is ending, that she has no future, that there is no hope. Her parents have done her no favors.

Regardless of which side of the issue you're on, it won't be solved by theatrics or the words of a child. My hunch is it won't be solved at all in the eleven years we're told we have left.

Did she have a unique solution for dealing with the issue?

Actually she does but it would be a hard pill for the rich elite and their mindless consumerist puppet hordes to swallow,

especially in a profit only matters, greed is good, cheaper is better, race to the bottom society in which the goal is to have the most toys before you die, doesn't matter who you step on or what you destroy in the process.

For about two years, Thunberg challenged her parents to lower the family's carbon footprint by becoming vegan and giving up flying, which in part meant her mother had to give up her international career as an opera singer.[9][14]
Thunberg credits her parents' eventual response and lifestyle changes with giving her hope and belief that she could make a difference.[9] The family story is recounted in the 2018 book Scenes from the Heart.[15]

why didn't she sail to China or India and screech at those two counties? I hear the air pollution in Beijing is tasty this time of year.
Because the UN climate summit is this week in New York, she didn't just sail over here to bitch at the US. You are not the center of the universe.

Trump is in on it now:

Took him at least several hours before repeating what he heard on Fox News. He's slipping.

Trump is their role model. Imagine that and ask yourself why things are that way. Trump the narcissistic, contemptible chronically afflicted liar and failed businessman who can't get a loan from any American bank as a role model for responsible conservatives and their children to emulate.

Silly me, I tried to and all I got out of it was a few seconds of time wasted thinking what a waste of time it was thinking about it.
