Fox News and CNN

Am I the only one that watches the fox news channel for entertainment and CNN for real news with real guests. I will admit that after 9/11 I turned to fox news because they were more pro-american and harder on the guests that were seen as 'neutral' or anti-american, but the commentators are very unprofessional on that channel. An example of this was a couple of weeks ago this pregnant lady was about to do the weather and she just stops and starts complaining about her (yet to be born) baby kicking her and they talked about that for some time. The commentators are very loose on that channel. But it also seems like they have more fun. Now I just turn it to fox news when I want to be entertained and cnn where I can find important people speaking.

Disclaimer: I work for Time Warner.

I prefer Fox over the Clinton News Network.

It is refreshing to not hear liberal drivel on a news channel for a change.

My sister's sister-in-law (I have no idea what that makes her to me...) works for CNN in Hotlanta... I got to go on a VIP tour of that place and I have to say it's pretty awesome. They were using Power PCs to do all their video editing and copied all finals to BetaMax. It was interesting to see that they were using fairly old standards, but everything worked very smoothly. I think CNN is the place to go for the more important news....I especially like Headline news because you can find out all the major things going on within a couple of minutes...

Fox News is definitely more laid back, but I don't normally watch it because my local cable company throws fox up in the higher cable numbers... It's a pain to channel surf up that far and I don't remember what channel it's even on. :p

Fox is enjoyable because they don't even try to hide the fact that they are biased. Even when they say they are they look like they are about ready to burst out laughing and say "NOT!"

That is true. I think they should change their advert to "We Report, We Decide."

Yes. And that was a question and, as such, needs a question mark. I'll assume your linguistic prowess is preceded only by your political knowledge.

At least it's different. I get tired of the same old same old reporting schtick. The liberal media conglomerate sucks ass. I even dislike NPR lately.

I guess it says a lot when Geraldo (sic?) is one of their senior journalists. And oliver north has that war show. And they (mistakenly) talk about jennifer lopez giving blowjobs to her old block.

And CNN is not as liberal as people think. I think they are more balanced than Fox News. Furthermore, Fox News appeals to the lowest common denominator while CNN stresses professionalism.

Go to the left of Fox News and the right of CNN and you'll find reality somewhere.

They master to BetaSP (industry standard) or DigiBeta not BetaMax, and they still use Avid based PowerPCs 'cause they probably spent over $100k on each one and, even though they are probably 4 or 5 years old (at least), they still work well enough that they don't need to be replaced.

I lik FOX New, but at the same time, I like to hear other news source
just to hear liberals whine about current administration. I'm fairly open mined
and don't mind listening to those I disagree with.

Are you calling Dubya the lowest common denominator?

One thing I can say in FOX's favor (well one of many things) at least they didn't stoop to putting on a Rush Limbaugh TV Show. Even with his new svelte self he's still a big bag of hot noxious gas and pales in comparison to O'Reily.

After 8 years of the high shrill whine from the Ultra Conservative Camp, the liberal whining is rather mild. In fact I've found that I have been able to sleep through it most of the time.

Whining goes both ways, if you are a democrat, it will appear that republicans whine the most

and if you are a republican, it appears that democrats whine the most.

The question is how receptive are you to opionions of those who you disagree with?

I think if you take out the Fox commentary shows like O'Reilly, Hannity and Colmes, and even Greta Van Sustren then it evens out. I can't watch the Fox morning show however. The three individuals on there annoy me with how they try to go out of the way to be cute and/or funny. Fox's just plain news shows are good and almost on level with CNN. Special Report with Britt Hume is excellent though...especially the round table segment. Britt Hume's hour surpasses anything that CNN puts on air IMHO.

Fox News and CNN

I watched both networks separately, on different days and I learned a few facts from them. Very interesting.

1. Only America and Iraq matter in this world. NOTHING goes on anywhere else
rolleye.gif

2. Really cold in a city I am nowhere near.
3. Commentators are preppy good looking chaps and the young ladies are to die for.
4. Football and Sports is WHAT really matters to people.

I like local news... I mean LOCAL LOCAL news...(not Own3d by ABC, NBC, CBS..etc)

Fox is entertainment, just like Rush Limbaugh. They focus more on sensationalism than news, which is why their original 9-11 splash screen had dripping blood.

CNN is actual journalism.

MSNBC is somewhere in between.

I will admit that the chicks on Fox News are scorching hot. That's another reason I watch that channel.

JosphII, let's not forget that two of Bush's senior staff are pro-affirmative action: Colin Powell and Dr. Rice. I was watching wolf blitzer interview powell yesterday and he made it clear of his support of it. Never seen any of bush's senior guys (and girls) go against him like that. On another note, fox was relatively quiet when it came to the trent lott affair.

LOL! Just keep believing the lies. There is nothing to see here...

I'm sure this is why CNN gets awards for being the most trusted news source.

It's an observable fact that when something happens, Fox and MSNBC's numbers go down, and CNNs go up.
