Fox nearly sued The Simpsons?

"Now Fox has a new rule that we can't do those little fake news crawls on the bottom of the screen in a cartoon because it might confuse the viewers into thinking it's real news," he said.

:Q

"Fox fought against it and said they would sue the show," Groening said.

"We called their bluff because we didn't think Rupert Murdoch would pay for Fox to sue itself. So, we got away with it."
best line ever

Wow.

Anyone who would be "suckered" in by that...just.....needs to shoot him/herself right now in the forehead. The kind of idiot that would believe something like that as real news doesn't need to be living.

You know that the ridiculous lawsuits have reached their peak when a company sues itself. I almost wish it had happened. It would have been funny to see who won it. [Newscaster]"In other news today, Fox is victorious over Fox in the Fox vs. Fox lawsuit. Fox has been ordered to pay punitive damages of $2.1 billion to itself. Story at eleven."[/newscaster]

Wow, that's something a bloody liberal would do.

Groenings portrayal of FOX news was pretty accurate. Especially when Krusty had that debate vs the Democratic senator, and they put horns on the democrat. haha.

i always thought it was funny that the simpsons were on fox, but i guess as long as it makes them money, they don't care if it doesn't fit their image.

Simpsons is mindless entertainment. And you can't get much more mindless than Fox.

You obviously don't watch the show enough. The Simpsons has a lot of mindless humor in it, but it also has a lot of sophisticated things, a lot of referrences, its clear that the people that write it are geniuses themselves.

There are a lot of obscure referrences in that show... For instance, they parodied MTV with a VJ live at a beach party (ie spring break). She announced that it was her 27th birthday, a red light embedded on the back of her hand started to blink, and a couple of guys carried her off. Referrence to the movie "Logan's Run".

Classic.

That was one of the funniest episodes, can't believe how little humor the Fox News people have.

"Do Democrats Cause Cancer?" "Study: 92 per cent of Democrats are gay... JFK posthumously joins Republican Party... Oil slicks found to keep seals young, supple..."

There funny cause there true 😀
